My name is Michelle, and I’m so happy you’re here! Rosy Blu is a site devoted to the sweet things in life: a beautiful place to call home. Good food, preferably some that I grew myself or made from scratch. Eating said food, and thoroughly enjoying it. Making things with my own hands and creativity. Decorating my home with treasured possessions and vintage finds to create an atmosphere that is unique, practical and luxurious.

The name Rosy Blu is very special to me, and helps explain the type of things you’ll find on this blog. “Rosy” is for my own middle name, Rose, and is also a reminder of my grandmothers, Bertha Rose and Virginia Rosemary. These two women have been incredible influences in my life, both in their love and attention to me personally, and for the loving families they raised. They also helped shape my affinity for good food, flowers, being resourceful and helped teach me what it means to have a warm and comfortable home.
The second half of the name stems from my belief that we should surround ourselves with things that are Beautiful, Loved and Useful. This thread runs through both my blog and my shop; I believe our belongings and our surroundings, as well as our relationships and how we choose to spend our time, should fill us up and bring us joy. And that is the core of why I began Rosy Blu: I believe in the unmeasurable value of surrounding yourself with things you cherish to make everyday life a little more beautiful.
I live and work in Winona, Minnesota, with my husband Jon and two adorable kitties, Charlie and Ninja Bob. I run two online shops: Rosy Blu Handmade, where I sell decor, gifts and accessories handmade from vintage materials; and Rosy Blu Vintage, a carefully curated collection of vintage items focusing on quality, beauty and function.
